HARDOX - Part of Your Success

Due to the combination of high hardness, high strength and good toughness, HARDOX wear plate is the obvious choice for applications in which wear had previously often given rise to problems. The high wear resistance of the plate increases the useful life of components such as tipper bodies, excavator buckets, crushing mills and similar equipment.

The hardness of the plate is achieved by effective quenching in SSAB Oxelosund’s water quenching line. This method enables high hardness to be achieved in spite of a low content of alloying elements in the steel. The resulting wear plate is easy to machine, bend and weld.

Versatile wear plate in four hardness levels
Since HARDOX wear-resistant plate is available in four hardness levels, i.e. HARDOX 400, HARDOX 450, HARDOX 500 and HARDOX 600, you can always specify a HARDOX grade steel to meet your specific needs.

HARDOX 400
is an all-round wear-resistant plate. Due to its high toughness, good bendability and weldability, the plate can also be used for load bearing duties in certain applications.

HARDOX 450
is a wear-resistant steel grade with a hardness of 450 HBW. Unique for this steel grade is its combination of toughness and hardness without compromising the characteristic HARDOX easiness in the workshop.

HARDOX 500
is a bendable and weldable abrasion resistant plate which is used in applications that demand higher wear resistance.

HARDOX 600
is a pure wear-resistant plate with extremely high wear resistance.
